"American" Food

I interrupt the flow of pretty pictures to bring you the following sad news: Apparently *this* is what Parisians think of when they think of American food. What say you, my canned cranberry sauce-eating, corn syrup-chugging friends? Thanksgiving is right down the street, and if I ever need any of these items, I'm all set.

I’m intrigued, what does this store sell. They can’t possibly think these things epitomize American cuisine, right? The objects were chosen for their colorful and iconic packaging.

LOL! No wonder they hate Americans! Compared to French cuisine that looks so cheap!

Oh no! But where are the oreos? Are they there? I often get the hamburger link from my acquaintances.

Because, not only are we disgusting, we are also lazy. We only buy peanut butter with the jelly already stirred in. Oh my.

(I’ve been following your blog for a little while, via some link on some design blog, I forget which one. I’m addicted to your photos, and I think your sole purpose is to make poor schmucks like me jealous.)

LOL, very sad indeed. Well, you know where to go when you have a yen for some good old american junk food!

Sadly, when I go food shopping at A&P, Shoprite, Pathmark, etc… this is exactly the type of thing you'd see running down the conveyor belt. Heck, you can find most of these products in CVS these days, too. Lowest common denominator foods that are cheap and have wide appeal. Buyers don't take a chance with sophistication.

Oh that is so sad! I purchase one – MAYBE 2 of those products at the grocery store. The French are so mistaken.

Sadly, this is what most Americans eat. This food is cheap and the FDA doesn’t care what’s in it.
