More Lancaster City

I can't get enough of the colonial homes, quaint shops and brick. Lots and lots of brick.

Heather –

You are not alone. Most people think of Lancaster as a place where the Amish live and where tourists go to see the Amish.

It’s a shame. It’s like judging New York City based on Times Square. ;)

The downtown is as beautiful as the countryside. I honestly can’t think of any other place quite like it.

I grew up here and I didn’t appreciate it at all.

It’s wild how very much that looks like Old City in Philadelphia. I guess I just never thought of Lancaster as having any sort of city center. I’m not far, I guess I should make the trip one of these days!!

I am such a huge fan of that pinky-orange brick tone. I (not so) secretely covet the 50’s cape across the street from me because it’s got a beautiful brick facade…
Seeing home like this makes me want to tear down my white vinyl siding and grab a trowel.
Love that ochre green color trim, too…

Oh so quaint! I’ve never been and think we’re only a few hours away…we’re in Pittsburgh. Looks like a neat place to explore:)

What a beautiful town! Or maybe it’s just how you photographed it. Anyway well done – looks great!
Saw your site a couple of weeks ago and am hooked! I’m trying to convince my husband that we can live abroad as well – And Paris would also be my pick! But I don’t know about him…..

gorgeous finds – I’m amazing at how empty and quiet it is. whenever I go to places like this, there are too many people.
