Prettiest I've ever seen the Seine. Does anyone know what kind of trees those are? Update: See? This is why I love twitter. I asked what type of tree this was, and within seconds, I had this response from Camille @papermode: "It's a kind of chesnut tree that's very popular all over Paris, called Bauman's Horsechestnut. Hope that helps!"

Horse chestnuts are also called Buckeye trees here in Ohio. And that’s what those look like.

I think they’re some sort of chestnut tree, Horse Chestnuts to be exact. They look very pretty…

Julie – That’s what I thought, but I wasn’t sure. They had a delicate lilac fragrance. Lined the Seine … amazing visually.

There is nothing (nothing!) like Paris in the springtime. Just gorgeous. Thanks for sharing your beautiful photographs. And Horse Chestnut is correct, as far as I can tell. We’ve got them here, too. (But they look a lot prettier lining the Sienne)
