Is there anything prettier than a tangle of purple wisteria? I know someone will chime in and tell me that it's hard to grow, makes a mess or clings to things to which it's not supposed to cling, but I'll still entertain fantasies of being the proud owner of a mature, matted Wisteria vine someday. I snapped these photos in Montmartre near Rue de Abbesses.

I love wisteria too…we stayed at a beautiful little farm house in Lourmarin in Provence 4 years ago and the one side of the farm house was covered in wisteria…stunning!

We get a lot of wisteria where I live (Alabama, USA) and I can never get enough. Will never attempt to grow it though!!

no complaints about wisteria here! it doesn’t have that ethereal name for nuthin…
hey nichole…if you can you go to a brand new shop up there called L’Orbinent? It’s on 46, rue Culaincourt…the owner is named Miriam, is super beautiful and sweet and we just delivered a slew of bonbons—I’m dying to see what the shop looks like! As if you needed another Paris project…I mean if you get the chance!

Last year when I lived in Oxford, the wisteria grew all along the walls of Queen’s Lane. I used to ride my bike down there and just inhale the scent. Gorgeous.

I agree with the downside, but it is so beautiful to look at.

We have a small deck growing along the fence of our deck. I can’t wait until it is mature in all its glory. I’m sending this post to my husband who wants to cut it down.

saw some beautiful wisteria at the Biltmore last week and it did seem like it’d take a lot of work. lovely shots!
