The Quintessential New Jersey Experience

Overeating at a diner, of course.

Every once in awhile, Evan and I have a simultaneous craving for stacks of pancakes, fake maple syrup and greasy bacon. Sunday was one of those days.

We strapped the kids in the car and headed for our favorite greasy spoon: The Tick Tock Diner. Located on Route 3, the Tick Tock Diner takes eating heavy seriously as evidenced by their tagline: Eat Heavy.

That we did, and of course we paid for it all day long. It was a food coma kind of day.

Ah the Jersey diner! Tiny plastic cups of half n half and all. Nothing like it!

The mug is awesome! Oddly, in all my years in NY, I never really ventured in to NJ.

Your post made me nostalgic for maple syrup … real, fake or otherwise!

Jules – We used to go to Six Brothers as well. Evan and Ian went there ALL the time when they were teenagers. ;)

LOL! Yup…having eaten in NJ, I can definitely say that nobody does diner food like New Jersey-ites do.

Nice.
