So we walked past an amazing window display the other day. Rows and rows of macaroons, pastries, breads and other too-good-to-pass-up edibles. My son's jaw hit the pavement right about the same time mine did, so we knew we were doomed.
Evan and I went in sans kids to spare the shop owners the hell that is two hungry American children in a quiet little shop. We couldn't decide what we wanted, so we did something we've never done: ordered one of everything! Well, not quite everything, but close enough. We returned to the street with two bags, both of which were stuffed.
When we got home, we brewed some coffee, and set everything up on a little table on the balcony. Much to everyone's dismay, I grabbed my camera to document the decadence. The boys went from impatient to inconsolable, so I let them stack macaroons like blocks - just the distraction I needed to steal a few shots.
