Mom Feezor's Red Velvet Cake
Mom Feezor is my friend Amy's mom. I've never met her, but her red velvet cake recipe surprise landed in my inbox a few days ago.
I gotta say, given the work I did to uncover the perfect biscuit recipe, it was kind of nice to have someone's favorite cake recipe pop up unprompted.
A few months ago, I blogged about how nice Amy was (right here). And now she goes ahead and proves me right. Nice Amy read my post about biscuits and White Lily flour, and thought I'd enjoy making her mom's red velvet cake with my new fancy Southern flour.
She was right. I love red velvet cake, but it's one of those things I never make for myself. I usually buy it, or savor it when one of my aunts brings it to a family picnic. But thanks to Mom and Amy Feezor, I now have a reliable recipe for moist, delicious red velvet cake. I chose to make cupcakes with it, and they were paper-licking good.
And guess what? Amy shares the recipe today on her blog. Go get it!
