The Red Balloon

red ballon, montmartre

There's something about the semi-permanence of this graffiti. Typically a balloon's life is short lived or ends tragically as it drifts up and away from it's tearful owner.

This one will stick around for awhile. At least until the anti-graffiti painters (what else do you call them?) I often see in Montmartre have their way with it.

A very whimsical image – let's hope the anti graffiti police don't get there anytime soon!

A red balloon seems suited to Montmartre somehow. Charming.

Perhaps an homage to the film – Le Ballon Rouge – the red balloon that follows a little boy around Paris. Love it, either way.

It's too pretty! I hope they will consider it as street art instead.

The kind of wall art that should be left untouched. Makes me want to watch "UP" =)

Wonderful – also hoping they leave it. I am always curious at this sort of street art. Why did they do it? Did anyone see them? Is it their first one etc..
