Torn pages on a wall in Montmartre, Paris Wall Art, Paris We Are Robot, Graffiti, Paris Graffiti, Paris of animosity, apathy, conformity and of something I can't make out. I'm curious about the act of displaying emotion on a public wall. It's an anonymous declaration that exposes the thought, but not the person behind it. Are they revolutionaries or rebels without a cause? There seems to be a disproportionate amount of contrarian messages, perhaps because it's easier to be anti-something than for something. The exception being the declarations of love, which come to think of it, might be little more than anti-anti-something. PS. Evan suspects that the high percentage of English graffiti has something to do with the nearby British pubs.

Great example of how things can say so much with so little …

It reminds me of a message I saw in NYC in 1989. I was so taken with the words and have never forgotten them. There was a drawing of a baby chick and the words scribbled underneath said "and her feet were always clean". Odd, but it stuck with me.

i recently saw graffiti inside a bathroom (of all places) that read: "be truest to yourself above all else." and it stuck with me because i was so happy so have seen something uplifting written rather than some angry statement.

oh, and that first photo? obsessed. :)

It is almost art. Feel like framing it and hang it on the wall….Love it!
