The Roads Most Traveled
You wouldn't know it by looking at them, but these are some of the most highly trafficked streets in Montmartre: the roads most traveled. Even as well-trodden as they are, it's still possible to capture a moment of tranquility. Today as I stood shoulder to shoulder on a stuffed, smelly New York City subway car, where there are no such moments, I thought about these winding streets. I don't know if it was the stress of my commute, the fear of missing my train, an insane workload, or all of it, but I wished I had a Jetson-esque hovercar that would have transported me out of there to a quiet cobblestone street. As I fought for a few inches on the subway, my thoughts waxed more toward roads less traveled. Popular thoughts in general these days.
