Alexander as Tom from Tom and Jerry

My little man is not so little anymore. Sniff.

We're celebrating Alexander's sixth birthday today, so things are crazy fun and a bit chaotic. His birthday comes right after Evan's birthday and Halloween, so it's a week of sugar and revelry.

Here he is above doing his best "Tom" from Tom and Jerry. His little brother was Jerry, and I'm happy to report that despite their costumes, they were the best of friends while dressed as the dueling duo.

Have a great weekend, everyone. I'm hopping offline to get hopped up on yet more sugar. ;)

This instantly reminded me of the classic collection "When we were very young" and "now we are six." Happy birthday to your sweet boy :)

What a handsome young man! What is interesting and charming is that youngsters like your boys still know and love Tom and Jerry. I have old jelly glasses – one Tom and one Jerry – and my grands use these glasses when they visit because they love the iconic cat and mouse. Long live T&J ;)

He is so adorable, I'm sure you're making it a memorable birthday for him. Hoping there's whoopie pies involved :)

Oh, and I'm sorry, but I really couldn't resist. I have one, just one photo of me as a child, as my parents are still sitting on the others. And it's of my 6th birthday, and boy is it scary to look back on that from the ripe old age of 45 and try to remember what was running through that innocent little mind. If this works you should be able to see it here :-)

Now We are Six
by A.A.Milne

When I was One,
I had just begun.
When I was Two,
I was nearly new.
When I was Three
I was hardly me.
When I was Four,
I was not much more.
When I was Five,
I was just alive.
But now I am Six,
I'm as clever as clever,
So I think I'll be six now for ever and ever.

Hi There,
I'm delighted to have just found your blog, thanks to Lindsay who wrote about it on Lost in Cheeseland. It is great to find another person who so obviously loves Paris and photography too. You have a good eye and I'll be leaving some comments on some of your more photo-focused postings shortly. Happy birthday to the Little Man. I have a much littler man who will be… one, in a week – born on Friday 13th November, 2009 – luckily for him it's considered lucky here in France :-)
