Grandma's Elves
Aren't these elves adorable?
They are my grandmother's, and I snapped these photos a few years ago so I would always remember how she set them up. I'm glad I did, because she passed away last January, and this will be our first Christmas without her.
The vintage "elves on a shelf" were my favorite part of the holidays, and she always took special care to arrange them as if they were a bunch of jolly friends hanging out. December was so magical growing up, and I'm enjoying planning our holiday events for the kids.
Speaking of magic, I've been invited to participate in the Real Simple Pop-Up Shop. I'll be blogging from Rockefeller Center from December 1-6 and plan to share the fun here and on the Real Simple Pop-up Shop Blog. If you are in New York, stop by - I'll be joined by my friends Amy of M-Dashing, Jenna of Whimsy and Spice, Amy of ABCD Design and Amy of Amy Blogs Chow.
Wow, that's a lot of Amys.
You can read my introductory post right here. Come over and say hi.

wonderful. I first learned of pop up shops in London, and I'm glad to see they're here in the States, too. Wish I could be in NY for Xmas time. Always gets me in the Christmas spirit.

We have a set of those elves too that were my grandmothers. I recently learned that they were part of the "Elves on a Shelf" tradition (http://www.elfontheshelf.com/indexnf.php?id=about). We don't have to book that goes along with them, but the tradition certainly carried on with our family.
Great photo.

Sweet… we had a pair of those in red & white and green & white stripes…exactly the same otherwise!
They are still around somewhere. I love the way yours are displayed…brings back memories for me too!
