Quiet

Quiet Paris Street I like this curvy, quiet street - a respite in the busy St. Germain area, and a welcome visual relief this morning after a weekend of merry-making with my family in Pennsylvania. Have you enjoyed the prelude to the holidays? I was lulled into a false sense of security by shopping weeks in advance, but my last-minute list is getting longer and longer. Off to bake!

That is indeed a welcome visual relief. I enjoy this time of year, but the week before Christmas always feels a bit like the Berenstain Bears' book Too Much Birthday. This morning I was so exhausted I did not hear the alarm playing NPR for an hour – first time that's ever happened. I'll have to set it to fog horn mode for tomorrow morning.

A very Merry Christmas to you and yours! Happy baking and many thanks for sharing your wonderful blog with us!

I'm getting to the point where I have to make lists to keep track of my lists. So I really shouldn't be reading blogs right now. But saying 'happy holidays!' to you is a good excuse, isn't it? Wishing you and your loved ones a very merry Christmas!

Although we all hate the last minute list, I don't think the holidays would be quite the same without it :)

I finished my Christmas shopping a while back… but i'm still waiting for some of the gifts to get here. That makes me antsy – seeing as Christmas is practically here now. I'm baking today too.

Have a spectacular Christmas week – and may you find many moments of quiet along the way.
