Cheese: Week Six
Three words: Run to Costco. Or at least into the arms of Saint Faron Triple Creme Cow's Milk Cheese. My mother-in-law picked up a huge wheel of this heavenly goodness at Costco and served it Friday night right before she spoiled us with chicken piccata, tortellini alfredo and brownies. Side note: Her hostessing skills are unmatched. Put simply: this cheese is insane. There's a time and place to consult the world's most celebrated cheesemonger, and there's a time to reach for a pound-sized crowd pleaser that rode its way to the checkout on top of a 50-pack of paper towels. That time was Friday. I basically ignored the two other cheeses we brought (Mahon and Pata Cabra) and zeroed in on the triple creme. It was one of the most satisfying cheeses I've ever eaten, and it's so close to butter, I bet you could fool someone. I can't believe you can get this at Costco a whole pound at a time. This could be bad. Very bad.
