The Curious Case of the Filthy Curtains

A couple of questions: 1. Exactly how many years does it take for curtains to get that grimy? 2. Why are they hanging (presumably on purpose) outside the window? 3. Was there a point at which they became so dirty the owner thought they'd pass for gray? 4. Were the yellow print curtains an attempt to spruce things up a bit?

1. Probably not long. A little hard rain can muck anything up.

2. They're blowin' in the wind! (I hate coming home to find my husband's left the windows open and they're trying to escape.)

3. Probably.

4. Definitely.
