Cheese: Week Fifteen

Cheese with garlic? It could have gone both ways, right? Subtle and complimentary or overdone. Well, the Champignon de Luxe--garlicky soft cow's milk cheese--ended up being the favorite of the night. We also had a really great aged gouda goat, and (I am ashamed to admit), yet another double cream Vermont Creamer goat. Clearly there is an obsession brewing. I was surprised to learn that the Champignon de Luxe was made in Germany. Check it out.

Is it TERRIBLE that I know that aged gouda from the green color of the label, or does it make me TERRIBLY cool. It's an aged goat gouda, right?

Yum.

I have to confess that my favourite shopping trips to the superamrket are those where I get to buy the cheese and I always aim for something different.

Those cheeses look delicious :o) I live near a grocery store with a wonderful cheese selection… my favorite is probably smoked gouda and gruyere. Cheese tasting looks like such a tasty hobby. I hope that you've had a great weekend!

mmmmmmmm…

if I were stranded on a desert island with only one or two choices for food, I'd take cheese & crackers every time.
