That's what this last trip was about for us. Thinking about where we've been, where we're going and what we've learned from the Paris Color Project. We walked through empty streets at 3am and watched the sun rise almost every day. It's the most serene I've ever seen Paris, and it was worth the unconventional schedule.

Wow, this touched in an unexpected way … everyone seems so contemplative, sad … wishing I could reach out to them … great shots!

That must have been just perfect. The pictures are great! I'm always afraid I will offend people if I take pictures of them, but I guess these people never noticed you were there. :)

To think and think at such a nice place must be wonderful!

That's one of my favorite things to do on photo trips (i.e., vacations) – get up early and watch the sunrise, sans my fellow tourists. Places are so much more moving and peaceful that way, and picturesque, I find, to boot. I've enjoyed some incredible moments this way in Paris, essentially alone with la tour Eiffel, la Place des Vosges, Sacre Coeur, and myriad other spots. Glad you embraced the unconventional schedule and had a few of your own special moments with the City of Light, as she comes to life (and light!) at sun rise.

What great snippets of life you've caught.

Dying to know more about why you guys went to Paris in the first place? Work, pleasure, play, all of the above?

How fabulous to get to do your reflecting in Paris! I love the idea of thinking about where you've been to figure out where you want to go. What better place to get re-energized and inspired! Can't wait to see the direction you two go in next.

I was in Paris a few weeks ago and didn't miss a sunrise. Early mornings when traveling are always full of priceless rewards and a rush of adrenaline that offset any discomfort. But then trying to stay awake for night shots is another challenge!

These are really marvelous images, Nichole. Your wonderful eye for composition makes them so memorable. The last one is just – great.

Paris just inspires moments like these, I think. It's a great city to simply "be". You've captured that perfectly.
