How'd they do it?

Ladder? Repelling from a helicopter? Stilts? Or did the graffiti artist live above the cafe and hang out the window?

I'm guessing ladder though you'd think someone would notice. I'm always amazed as I see tons of graffiti over freeway overpasses here in LA. I imagine they hang backwards or?

They got into the rooms upstairs somehow and reached out. Or they climbed up the pole and scaled it at 2 in the morning. But yes – WHY??? I guess everyone wants to be Banksy, but they could even attempt to make it look nice, surely? :/

I always wonder the same…By the way, there is a street art movement that does amazing "graffiti" with small tiles. When I went to Paris last summer, my friend told me about it, she was very excited. Have you spotted some of those?

The curve of each section suggests to me that they used a ladder and spray painted from the same position. Although…it is at window height, too.

I have to admit, graffiti doesn't always upset me, as I do recognize it as an urban art form, but this one bums me out. First of all, it's in my beloved Paris. Second, it's on a gorgeous historic building. In Paris-where almost everything is historic & beautiful. Bummer.

Oh, what idiots. It makes me so mad that they would ruin a beautiful building. Tt does seem impossible that they could have reached that high! xo

Susan – Agree!

This was our daily place for coffee when we lived on Rue St. Paul. It's right at the end of the street across from Miss Manon. Really bummed me out too.
