Paris Light: Montmartre

This street is typically packed with tourists, but later at night it's quiet. Like most cities, there's always a bit of life at any hour (like the young man here), but Paris falls into a deeper, more tranquil late-night lull than New York.

What a great shot! I love the lit up doorway and the color reflected on the street. Beautiful!

I love the color red, and even more at night, perhaps. It is lovely the way the storefront paints the street at night with light. And I am so with you on the deep tranquility of Paris in the wee hours. I'm not much of a night owl, but I always make a point to stay out late a night or two with friends when I am in Paris, so that I can enjoy just such a scene. Though, if you rise and shine early enough (and before the sun), you can watch the city go from bed to bustle, which I find intoxicating. This is a favorite pastime of mine in Venice, too. Or anywhere on vacation, really (:

Lou Lou – It's a narrow windy street. So pretty, but usually packed with people.

hi Nichole

It is lovely to know there is a play time and there is a sleep time.

I wish we had a sleep time here during the day in Australia like some of Europe

beautiful picture – is that a narrow street or a wider walkway?

Ah, we walked by those exact storefronts many times during our visit in July. You're right about late-night Paris: it feels like a completely different place.

This past February I was on this exact street at 4 in the morning. You have captured it beautifully.
