I've seen a lot of vintage fur in Paris and New York. What do you think of this trend?

Kinda hate to admit, but I kinda love it. have talked two friends into gorgeous vintage furs at estate sales recently and then got one for myself. Somehow I can justify it because it is recycling. She looks so chic.

It also makes me miss the rosé habit I picked up in Paris.

I’d rather see vintage than real. I have a vintage shearling (1930s) that I wear sometimes, though it’s getting a little shabby & needs repair.

I hate, hate hate new fur though. I suppose it’s hard to reconcile those things, but it’s more that I hate waste, so I think we shouldnt destroy old fur, but we shouldn’t create more.

BTW, this photo is stunning, very 1970s.

It’s been all over the runways and in a way, I am kind of shocked. After all of the movements in the fashion industry in the past decade including celebrities standing behind PETA, etc., it is also a wee bit hypocritical, no? Some of it looked beautiful on the runway, but for me personally, I just can’t do fur. Fur is fur,,,,recycled or not.

I personally love it! I know it’s not right to say, but I love the vintage fur trend. I agree with Sarah and Tamera, recycled is definitely better than new…but then again, isn’t that true with all fashion?

Tamera – So funny! I drink a lot of rosé in Paris, too. What is that?

I feel similarly. I don’t mind vintage (though I don’t own any). It is such a tough topic though.

The whole place totally had that vibe. I can’t remember the cafe, though!

Hmm…then again, she could be outside couldn’t she.

I thought you weren’t allowed to smoke in cafes these days in Paris. It doesn’t look lit, which makes me think this is more of a photo shoot for the fur coat than something that just happened. That aside, I think we worry way too much about what’s right and feeling guilty. I vote anything goes in Paris. Elle est belle.

Firstly, I love this photo. Very chic and old vintage. As for wearing fur, I’m opposed to it, whether it’s old or new. There are faux furs that look very real.
