Église Saint-Merri

Lovely organ music lured us into this small gothic church near the Le Centre Pompidou. People were assembling and handing out programs, so we hurried past to get a peek at the architecture in case we were crashing an event. Many of the confessionals were empty with the exception of a few chairs here and there. As I neared the organ, I saw a student/teacher scenario that made me smile. -Nichole

Café Le Nemours

Café Le Nemours is one of the most famous cafés in Paris. When you round the corner at Rue Richelieu and see it across Place Colette, it’s easy to understand why. As beautiful as it is during the day, there’s something magical about the warm light at night. Add rain, and it just about brings you to your knees. If you're in the mood for a mini escape, take a virtual tour of Place Colette and Café Le Nemours on google street view (a somewhat embarrassing guilty pleasure of mine).

Along the Seine

Lights from the boats illuminate the trees along the Seine. It's one of my favorite things about walking along the river at night. It reminds me of snow.

Paris Globe Lights

Globe Lights, Paris Globe Lights, Paris Globe Lights, Paris Globe Lights, Paris Globe Lights, Paris Lines Globe Lights, Paris There's something subtly sexy about these round globe lights don't you think? I've always loved them, and I had them in mind when I purchased the chandelier for above our dining room table. I was drawn to the clear, round glass balls, and love how light bounces off them at night.

Hemingway Haunts at Night

Cafe De Flore at night, Paris Brasserie Lipp at night, Paris Cafe Deux Magots at night, Paris The last two were shot at 3am, and there wasn't a soul in sight. The empty cafes and warm, almost surreal light presented the opportunity to pretend I was in a different era. You do that too, right?

It's That Time of Year

The time of year when I start to think about the holidays, but think it's too soon to think about the holidays, so I repress thoughts of twinkle lights and warm cookies until it's useless to resist them. And then of course, I cave, and that happened around midnight Friday night. I partly blame Ez, for her fantastic gift guide. Have you seen Gifted? If not, check it out here. I don't think there's one thing in there I don't like. And then there's the treasury making at etsy. I admit it, I'm kind of obsessed with curating gift guides like: She Always Loved Blue I'd Marry the Guy Who Likes These Things. Oh Wait, I Did. He Watches The Graduate and Sips Scotch Are you in the holiday mood? I'm *this* close to adding the Bing Crosby holiday tunes to my play lists.

Paris Romance

What could be more romantic? Under the bridge by the Seine, the tangled couple kissed. In the movie version, we would have quickly cut to another scene or a montage set to Berlin's "Take My Breath Away." But in real life, they just totally got it on. And on and on and on...
