My Account

For the Bloom project, we drew inspiration from the provocative language of six Romantic period poets. Our partner in crime? Our dog-eared Norton Anthology of British Literature.

The British Romantics were among dissatisfied intellectuals and artists who challenged the establishment and what they saw as an elitist, Enlightenment era rife with pretentious intellectualism, rigid logic and antiquated class systems. It’s funny to think of poets as rebels, no?

While particular perspectives varied, the Romantic poets championed imagination above reason, and shared a youthful exuberance for nature. They believed it had restorative powers, and used poetry to elevate the everyday to the extraordinary. Our Bloom collection pairs our favorite provocative lines with larger-than-life florals - a nod to the pastoral imagery and reverence for nature.
