Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz

$ 24.00
"No god is secure from the lofty flight of mortal thought." - Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz

From My Divine Lysis, written in 1680. She was a writer, philosopher, composer, poet, and nun living in Mexico ("New Spain" at the time). Her outspoken opinions earned her lasting recognition as both a great writer and fearless thinker. She was known as "The Tenth Muse" and as "The Phoenix of Mexico", as she was considered a flame that rose from the ashes of "religious authoritarianism".
