On Sept 24, we kicked off our publishing initiative at Obvious State!

We’re publishing the first 8 in a new series of stylishly designed pocket editions of iconic literary works. Each book is illustrated by Evan Robertson, the founder and artist behind Obvious State. Thematic art, elegant typography, and exquisite ideas from some of our greatest minds combine for a unique, immersive reading experience that illuminates the wisdom and aesthetic beauty of beloved, enduring works. Our hope is to create beautiful, portable art objects to collect and share, and to inspire moments of quiet reflection in a hyper connected world. 

We piloted the first five books - Eliot, Poe, Teasdale, Whitman and Thoreau - via very short runs over the last year, and were overwhelmed with positive feedback. Many thanks to those who participated in our Blind Date program and to those who purchased any titles from our short run. 

We recently launched a Kickstarter campaign in order to fund a larger run of the first five books and get to work on the next three: Emily Dickinson, Robert Frost and John Keats.

By preordering through our Kickstarter campaign you:
