The Leaf-Man Cometh

The Leaf-Man Cometh

Mists, mellowness & our annual calendar pre-sale!

"Season of mists and mellow fruitfullness, Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun;” - John Keats, To Autumn

We’re officially in the zone between Autumn meteorologically, which begins September 1st, and astronomically which kicks off in a few weeks. Regardless, it culturally began for us yesterday when we sent our son off to his first day of his last year of high school. Yesterday afternoon we joined our neighbors for afternoon cider at the local orchard and were greeted this morning to a crisp 50-degree breeze. I had a premonition of turning on the heat followed by a mental maintenance and fuel level checklist, which officially begins Autumn dad-ologically.

So here we are, Autumn, ready or not, for your mists, mellowness and maturing sun. Give me a moment to rub my hands together in anticipation and for some warmth (wow, is the house warm enough?) and contemplate the new season. The season. The year. The years. How did my kids get so big? Where did it go? Do I dare to eat a peach?? Good God, it’s going fast! Hug your children! Kiss your pets and parents! Tip your wait staff!

Time is top-of-mind for me today because I’ve just sent our calendars off to the printer. They are available now for pre-order. Yes, I said calendars, plural! The Aurelius collection has been extremely popular this year, so Nichole and I decided on two thematic calendars - Marcus Aurelius and Women Writers - rather than one general calendar. We’re hoping it makes gifting a little more thoughtful and specific for everyone. We would make more, but you know that whole small business thing, which is why we are also making them available two weeks early at a nice discount for all of you fine, fine readers. So now is the time to stock up on those stocking stuffers!

The Details: These are our tried-and-true desk calendars and each comes with a wooden display easel. You can preorder them for $15 (normally $18).
