William Blake

"To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour"
- William Blake

Blake was a visionary, and a key poet during the British Romantic era. At the time, he was viewed as an obscure eccentric whose ideas clashed with the established traditions. It was only after his death that his work garnered the attention it deserved.

The inspiration for the illustration comes from the first four lines of his poem, Auguries of Innocence written around 1803. Blake was heavily inspired by symbols and icons, so we used symbols as a nod to his artistic perspective. A swirl of sand and stars emerge from the gap between two hands of a clock.  They create the shape of a wildflower, as they curl into an infinity sign.
