PENGUIN RANDOM HOUSE

In 2014, we collaborated with Penguin Random House to produce a boxed postcard set of our Bibliophila illustrations. The collection features bold, graphic interpretations of 50 provocative literary lines from authors such as Woolf, Dostoevsky, Wilde, Poe & Austen. Our next project, Subtext, marries classic literature with contemporary colloquialisms  and releases on June 13th, 2017.

CHRONICLE BOOKS

In April 2012, Obvious State Co-founder, Nichole Robertson, collaborated with Chronicle Books to release Paris in Color - a collection of photographs that celebrate the city’s intimate details which are often overshadowed by iconic landmarks. In addition to Paris in Color (a Chronicle bestselling book), we released corresponding notecards, notebooks, engagement calendars and an ancillary book, Paris in Love (Dec 2014). Our next project with Chronicle, New York in Color releases on June 6, 2017.

GENIUS THE FILM

In 2014 we collaborated with London-based Genius Film Productions to make a gift for the cast and crew members of Genius - a chronicle of Max Perkins' time as the Scribner book editor who oversaw the works of Thomas Wolfe, Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald and others. The quotation that inspired our illustration is from an exchange Thomas Wolfe had with Max Perkins about a New York City sunset.

THE METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART

The “Paper Project” was a re-imagining of the Metropolitain Museum shop as it was when it first began. The Met Store was founded in 1910 in the Great Hall, and sold paper reproductions of the works in the collection. The Paper Project celebrated the material that started it all, and included over 500 creative paper products. We were honored that our Bibliophilia and Shorts cards were selected to be a part of this wonderful initiative.
